Why do you need international shipping insurance?

In addition to the standard shipment insurance, BuyEU offers an extra service-shipment insurance.

Our customers parcels are automatically insured under the standard carrier liability (in accordance with the Convention on the Contract for the International Carriage of Goods by Road (Warsaw Convention), which is free of charge to the customer, but the standard liability of the carrier under the Convention on the Contract for the International Carriage of Goods by Road (Warsaw Convention), an amount of 44,00 PLN per 1 kilogram is reimbursed.
 

The possibilities offered by the Standard Carrier Liability Insurance are illustrated by the following example:

Let's imagine you buy an item from the online store in Germany. Our company receives the item in stock and it arrives to Poland. The item which weighs 4 kilos from the warehouse in Germany travels to Lithuania. Unfortunately, the truck gets into an accident and the shipment is completely damaged. The customer requires the reimbursement of the parcel real value, i.e. 2000,00 PLN.

Standard Carrier Liability Insurance Policy: in accordance with the Convention on the Contract for the International Carriage of Goods by Road (Warsaw Convention), an amount of 44,00 PLN per kilogram is reimbursed. In this case, the compensation amount is 176,00 PLN.

If the customer has a shipping insurance for amount of 2000,00 PLN and has a valid insurance certificate, then the reimbursement amount is 2000,00 PLN.

Purchase additional insurance for your parcel to prevent from accidents and you will receive the amount of money equivalent to the purchase price and shipping costs for the damaged or lost parcel:

• The maximum amount of insurance is 21586 PLN.
• While placing the order and selecting the value for the insured parcel, the total value of the entire order may not exceed the maximum insurance coverage.
• The amount of money cannot exceed the actual value of the purchase. The sender may be prosecuted for fraudulently stating or falsifying a shipment with a higher value than it is.
• The insurance is valid for transportation to the distribution centre. In the case of delivery order by a courier or a self-service parcel terminal, the third party carrying out the delivery shall take over the insurance liability.

BuyEU insurance does not cover losses due to the following conditions: 

• Consequence type costs (costs indirectly caused by the insured event, e.g. downtime).
• Negligence on part of the customer of the third party (e.g. improper packaging).
• The shipment contains prohibited shopping items specified in item 2.4 of the BuyEU rule, even though BuyEU has delivered to Poland).

• 39 PLN – for parcels valued up to 432 PLN
• 78 PLN – for parcels valued up to 2159 PLN
• 108 PLN – for parcels valued up to 4317 PLN
• 130 PLN – for parcels valued up to 6476 PLN
• 173 PLN – for parcels valued up to 8634 PLN
• 216 PLN – for parcels valued up to 10793 PLN
• 259 PLN – for parcels valued up to 12951 PLN
• 302 PLN – for parcels valued up to 15110 PLN
• 345 PLN – for parcels valued up to 17268 PLN
• 389 PLN – for parcels valued up to 19427 PLN
• 432 PLN – for parcels valued up to 21586 PLN
